WORK EXPERIENCE

FREELANCE BACKGROUND PAINTER @ THEODD1SOUT (YouTube Series)

July 2021 - Current

  • Coordinate with Background Leads to create painted backgrounds that match the style of the show.

  • Apply notes and feedback provided by the Background Leads and Show Runner to revised versions of paintings.

  • In addition to painting backgrounds, I’ve also provided linework for several layouts which I later painted.

FULL-TIME BACKGROUND PAINTER @ STARBURNS IND. (Unannounced Animated Pilot)

May 2023 - June 2023

  • Helped to establish the paint style of the series by using references provided by the Art Director.

  • Coordinate with other Background Painter to make sure styles and color palettes hook up and accurately capture the tone of the scene.

  • In addition to painting backgrounds, I’ve also provided several Color Styling options for various layouts in the pilot.

FULL-TIME BACKGROUND PAINTER @ TITMOUSE (Beavis & Butt-Head Season 1/Season 2)

Oct 2021 - Mar 2023

  • Create digitally-painted backgrounds in the traditional watercolor style of the original series.

  • Attend weekly Dailies meetings and apply notes from Art Director and Show Runners to enhance the look of each painting.

  • In addition to painting backgrounds, I’ve provided color work for several props using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animator and created the color keys for two separate locations.

FULL-TIME BACKGROUND PAINTER @ SHADOWMACHINE (Final Space Season 3)

May 2020 - Oct 2020

  • Use Color Script provided for each episode to create unique and striking backgrounds that fit the mood of various scenes while remaining cohesive with the style of the show.

  • Apply notes and feedback given during critique from my Art Director to improve the overall look of each painting (texture, lighting, line art.)

  • In addition to Background Painting, I've also assisted in painting Props, Characters and FX.

  • Communicate with new and recurring clients to create custom designs for printed materials displayed in commercials, TV and movies.

  • In charge of writing invoices, obtaining pricing from vendors, processing orders and taking inventory of materials.

  • Assist in maintaining the company’s social media account (Instagram) and posting completed jobs and other related materials.
